Cost per good plate
14.76
14.76 per part
| Filament | 3.90 |
| Power | 0.24 |
| Machine | 1.47 |
| Labour | 8.40 |
| Failed plates | 0.74 |
| Good plates a month | 184 |
| Left over a month | 2,813 |
Amounts are in whatever currency you enter. "Left over" is before rent, packaging, shipping, fees, tax and design time, and assumes you sell everything you print.
What it counts
Filament, power, printer wear and spares, hands-on labour, and the plates that fail. Failed plates are spread over the good ones.
What it leaves out
Rent, packaging, shipping, payment fees, design time, software and tax. It also assumes the printers run the hours you enter, so add those costs before you set a price.
Where the starting values come from
They are Swiss market values researched in October 2026, for a real 205 g, 9-hour plate of ours. Hands-on time, printer life and failure rate have the weakest evidence, so replace those first.
The formula, every source and how solid each value is are in cost per plate. If hands-on time turns out to be your biggest cost, that is what Rackrew is for.
